An everday affair.

Dreams. It is my every day affair.

Day dreams, night ones; my head creates different stories, adventures, beautiful things. I dream about baking lovely food, about exploring places faraway, about creating art in different forms.

And today, I dream mostly about travelling to places. After reading blogs about life in new york, I want to be there for awhile, to visit especially the Brooklyn Art Library. It seems like the very place for me. Brooklyn, oh Brooklyn. Seems so very far. But I believe, I will get there one day.

Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, wait up. I am coming for you too.

So just yesterday, I ask my better half this question "If given a choice, would you like to move to Australia and live there?"

I do not know what he was thinking then or if he had an answer to that but for myself, I want to if I could and if he wanted to.

I know, some may doubt if I could get used to a new life, a new culture. I feel like I could use a good change, a new adventure sometime, maybe now.

Do you ever get the feeling that you belong somewhere else, just not here. Yes, I get that feeling a lot.

It is some sort of a dream now, but just like what Rachel said to me, keep that dream alive. I will keep that dream alive alright, you betcha. (:

been thinking about my future home a lot, coupled with a trip to ikea got my imagination running. pinterest is overwhelming with home ideas! be still my heart! haha!

currently daydreaming/ craving for/ desires:

1. a cup of tea

2. mac & cheese

3. a hearty breakfast in a nice quiet cafe. (must have eggs, bacon, toast, butter, pancakes. love breakfast food!)

4. cardigans in different colours (esp one in mustard & one in that shade of green.)

5. pretty skirts & dresses in brighter colours. (i have too many solemn coloured ones.)

6. my future home. fernvale riverbow. (thinking of the deco, the appliances & most importantly my scrap room!)

7. gerbera daisies in varied colours. these flowers are starting to grow on me.

fyi, i cldnt get to sleep yesterday because my craving for mac & cheese was so bad. must. get. myself. a. good. hearty plate. of. mac & cheese! gah. any recommendations? or and if you know of a good place to have a christmas dinner at (shd include the christmas turkey), pls drop me a note here!

what i have been up to.

1. signed up for Amy Tangerine's class on Big Picture Classes. (i just couldn't resist!)

2. burn a hole in my pocket with MWL's 45% storewide promotion haha. but i got all the supplies i need to last me for the next few months. i was kind of wishing Amy Tangerine's mini book and washi tape would be on sale but alas!

3. dreaming of new ideas, new projects, new storage ideas to get my stash in all the right places.

4. preparing myself for my big day- graduation! shirt, skirt, heels; all checked!

5. readying myself to work on a client request (customized welcome gift.)

6. collecting washi tapes, lots of them. they are my weakness. gah. (:

okay, friday afternoons are the hardest to get by because everyone's in a weekend mood. my head's in different places, from scrappy inspirations to shopping. my heart was singing a happy tune when my google image results fell on these few pretty things:







can someone pinch me. yeah i know i don't have a use for these now but how can anyone resist all these? especially the first two!

i'm kind of certain that i will get the macbook pro next year when i get a new laptop. was initially toggling with the idea if i should get a mac since i have been using a pc for the longest time. change can be good sometimes? i have until next year to make a decision anyway haha.

special project for a special milestone

the 3 years mile stone is reaching us very soon. slowly but surely, by the grace of God, boyfriend and i have braved and weathered the many ups and downs, good times and the times where change overwhelms us. i'm excited at what life would bring us in the years ahead but right now, a scrappy project is a must to celebrate.

thought long and hard what have i not made for boyfriend (he says his room is turning into an art gallery. heh). decided to use the 12x12 canvas i purchased a month ago to work around with. was very happy with the progress. i misted the canvas just yesterday night. if you know me, misting can be terrifying because i have not quite mastered it but thank God, it turned out the way i would want it to (: think soft yellow and blue hues with some blending in between with the accidental swipe of the tissue paper! but the accident was a good accident because i love it!

did some precision cutting on some websters country estate + other papers. still working on it, not even half done but i'm positive i will like the final turnout. (: thinking of stamping and embossing too tonight, can't wait to get home to give it a go. so here's my wordy updates on what i have been up to.

and also i want to give thanks to Justina for the cat kit! okay so i don't have a cat but i have an "adopted" stray cat around my work place. i say that counts in some sense. :p heh.

i guess you scrappers should have heard the awesome news about Amy Tan and American Crafts collaboration? excitement was seriously bursting out of my veins there and then! i can't wait to lay hands on whatever's coming up. and i can't wait for Smash too. decided i am going to get myself the black folio.

life is great!

the air smells exceptionally fresh today! BECAUSE i'm done with the final exam paper for my 3 year degree programme! woohoo!

suddenly, i got so much time on my hands! i can do all the things i have been wanting to do! no more putting it off just because my school schedule doesn't allow me to! no more feeling guilty about scrapping ideas running through my head instead of the notes i need to memorize for school! hah! (:

basically i feel so free! to be able to explore, go on adventures, craft, scrap, bake, make music, learn something etc etc! so what will i be doing on my first day- post exams? SHOPPING! and it so happens, its the great sg sales now! dropping by made with love later to pick up my $20 voucher and use my birthday month discount wisely heh!

okay shall end my post and get myself ready for the afternoon!

okay! my final final paper for my degree in social work's going to be next friday! so i will be missing in action for abit until exam's over. but i've got lots of plans, ideas, inspirations to scrap, alter, make etc etc!

was over at made with love's national scrapbooking day fun fair and i got myself a whole lots of materials- patterned paper, prima blooms, thickers, distress inks, crackle paint in picket fence and a new pair of non stick blade craft scissors! all these stash at great discounts. and i went home and realise i forgot to use my birthday month discount ): BUT i will be back there again to use the discounts! yes i will ;p just got to think about what i should use my discounts and a made with love $20 voucher on? crop-a-dile big bite? a new paper cutter? (my current one's failing me. can't do straight cuts? the horror!) got a bit more time to think this through before May ends ya? targetting a scrap class in June and another in July. this is called post-exams celebration!

got my hands on some good deals. bought over a few alterables from Lia's blog- a 12x12 canvas, a maya road airmail mail box and 3 cheeseboards. i have a picket fence chipboard album, a small birdcage and a typo frame yet to be "meddled" with. gah. okay, promise i will do something about them okay! (:

baking & food photography.

as the final exam nears, i'm getting really excited of the amount of time i'm going to have to finally do the things i want to do but have no time! that includes, cooking/baking, guitar playing (my guitar's collecting dust now, need some serious polishing!), bible study classes, outreach work (thinking of organizing some ad hoc projects for interested friends to join me. think painting orphanges, carolling in a hospital etc) and most importantly scrapping!!!

scrapping will branch out to participating in MWL's challenges (so so excited! i've never joined one, so this will be a first.), trying for calls (for the fun of it, still a long way to go for me, so much to learn hehe) and just scrapping because i love doing it so much! speaking of which. anyone has any idea what's a good storage method for LOs? am considering albums but they are pretty bulky. until i get my own place in 4 yrs time, don't think my sister would be too keen for albums to be all ard in our shared bedroom haha.

okay so yesterday night, after visiting all the scrappy sites as i would normally do everyday, i chanced upon a food photography blog. http://www.tarteletteblog.com/ This lady's really talented and she got me all inspired! both in cooking/photography hehe. so from this photography blog, i recalled a blog i've stopped visiting for awhile http://www.thebakerwhocooks.net/ another Singaporean who cooks/bakes really well, has lovely food photos for your viewing pleasure and so much more of her insights to food and her adventures. so these will be my regular lovely reads on top of the few links i've shared on my right sidebar (: let me know if you have other reading recommendations!
